Wedding Favor Ideas

There are two golden rules when choosing what to give to your
guests as wedding favors:

First, you need to give something that strongly represents both
of you or what your relationship to each other stands for;
secondly, if you don't wish the favors to represent both of
you, it should at least fit or is significantly related to the
theme of the wedding.

For those with a practical bent, there's one additional golden
rule: give out wedding favors that you can afford to give.

Tips and Ideas for Wedding Favors

Figurines are one of the most common choices for wedding
favors. If you like the idea of giving away figurines but you
wish to deviate a little from the ordinary, consider ordering
imported or exotic figurines or having one customized just for
the occasion.

Food is an increasingly popular choice for wedding favors. It's
even possible that the hotel you're holding your wedding
reception at may even offer to give away wedding favors in your
behalf. Usually, they give out cookies tucked inside cute little
boxes. If you wish to prepare your own edible wedding favor,
however, just make sure that it's something tiny and
ready-to-eat.

Handmade crafts are also a huge hit with wedding guests
especially if they know that you've worked hard on each and
every one of them. Although giving away handmade favors will
save you a significant amount of money, this activity is
generally time-consuming and stressful, not to mention
requiring lots of effort from you and your family. If you're
determined to give away handmade crafts, make sure that you
start working at least two months in advance.

Wine is always a great choice for wedding favors, but it's
pretty expensive. Nevertheless, if your budget allows it, you
can make the favor even more meaningful by putting more care to
your selection. You can choose a French wine, for instance,
because it represents the lovely time you had in a chateau at
France. You can also choose the exact year and name of wine
both of you drunk when your partner made his proposal.

A personal compilation of songs will always be appreciated. To
make it even more meaningful and memorable, you can record both
of your voices as you introduce each song and explain the
significance behind it.

If your wedding favors tend to be on the simple side, spruce it
up with pretty packaging. If you are on a tight budget you
should think about getting one wedding favor per couple, or
even sometimes giving a wedding favor for a family, but then
you will need the wedding favor to be something of greater
value. The safe side is giving one wedding favor per couple.
