Creating Your Wedding Program
By
D Fraser

No matter whether your wedding program is a download from the
computer or a brain- child of your own fertile creativity, give
free reign to ideas flocking round your gray matters for an
outstanding ovation to the wedding. It also matters little if
you are all set for a black-tie formal affair or are planning a
fantasy wedding program around a particular theme, let your
imagination do the trick.

Wedding Program - create a sample first

Do a mental planning of what you intend to do and then create a
sample wedding program - it will ease the final artifact. For
example, how and where do you want the text, where do you want
the picture to appear - on the front cover, back or the inside
cover. Better to keep the back cover free for a special 'Thank
you' section. The back cover will also suit as a site for
homage to the dear departed member of the family. Once these
things are sorted out, the finishing touches may wait. Oh! What
about the lettering? Do you want custom calligraphy or a
calligraphy font provided in your computer will do the job? Fix
up your mind. The print outs can wait too.

Keep consistency in the wedding program

Whatever you may do, keep consistency because that will give
the much needed somber effect. If you have elected to say, "Bob
Weber and Martha Higgins would like you to attend the wedding of
their daughter", your wedding program should follow the same
tune, like "Bob Weber and Martha Higgins welcome you to the
wedding of their daughter". In case your father and his new
wife have paid for the reception and the cocktail, keep the
back cover reserved for the 'Acknowledgement'. Keep these
things in mind when you are planning a wedding program. These
things are important in a wedding program.

Follow the theme all through

If you are planning to follow a theme, follow it right through.
When you are planning an elegant, formal wedding like the
setting in Phantom of the Opera, your gusts may be mildly
hinted of it so that they could wear similar attire (though not
mandatory). In this way, the presentation of the wedding program
could be somewhat similar to the letters received by opera
patrons. In case you wish to follow a musical extravaganza,
keep the style alike. And that means a great deal to you and
others.

Wedding program - the last word

Devise the program in such a way that it may reflect your sense
of innovation and sincerity of purpose. If that is achieved, the
laurels are all yours. A wedding is a very serious and emotional
event, particularly for the bride and the groom. So it needs to
be planned properly.
